About Us

Briax Industries was established in 1978 by Brian Ax as a subsidiary Company to his well known large Automotive Machinery Company, Motor Machinists Limited.

Brian found there was a need in the market to replace an old style work soap, solvol, with a more natural pumice based soap, ingredients being goats milk, manuka honey, and the recent additive of anti-viral, antiseptic properties, leaving hands clean, soft and free from any irritation caused by harsh soaps.

Briax Work Soap testimonials also show its diversity of uses within various industries and around the home.

Brian's passion for innovative design was awarded the New Zealand Design Award for his creation of the unique Briax Golf Putter and Briax Magnetic Ball Markers.   This recognition resulted in Cobra Golf, U.S.A.  contracting Brian to design the Anvil Series of 5 different Cobra Putter Heads.

Since the 1960's Brian has been involved in Motor Sport racing of several cars including his historic Elfin Mallala which he completely restored and raced in the 1994 Historic section of the Adelaide F1 Grand Prix.   Whilst not forgetting his unique fast  Austin A40 Farina.

In 1960's Repco Engineering, after noticing the many Machines Brian had designed for Motor Machinists Limited, invited him to design a rotary flywheel grinder which was to be the  famous Repco RG5...24" Flywheel Grinder.
